On the fab floor, PVD process windows keep getting tighter—every quarter, it feels like we’re shaving another corner off. One lamp thermal excursion is all it takes to drift the photoresist bake profile, and suddenly overlay and line-width variation are walking out the door. We built these PVD lamps to keep the thermal budget honest, shift after shift, cycle after cycle.
What actually matters under the hood
These run short-wave infrared with quartz envelopes, so ramp-up is fast and steady-state control is tight. Across the bake zone, wafer-level uniformity holds ±0.1°C—enough to protect the margins on critical soft bake and hard bake. They’re built for cleanroom Class 1–100, with sealed, low-outgassing construction and zero particle generation. The thermal system is rated for 7×24, and field data shows zero unplanned failures over 5,000+ hours, with output drift under 5%.
In PVD, repeatable substrate temperature is the line between holding yield and watching wafers scrap. These lamps lock the thermal profile every pass, which cuts line-width variability and gives you more consistent film adhesion. The payoff is predictable process windows, fewer rework lots, and maintenance you can plan around.
Energy use is tuned for fast settling and low idle loss, so you trim operating cost without sacrificing ramp rate.
A few practical notes from the install
The lamps drop straight into standard PVD tool platforms, but you still have to verify alignment to the chamber thermal port and the cooling path during install. Expect a short commissioning window to dial in PID for your chamber load and fixturing. Once it’s matched, setpoint repeatability sticks, and maintenance intervals stretch out—more uptime, less babysitting.
