Here is the biggest mistake people make when buying an infrared heater: they think “more power equals more comfort.” In reality, buying the biggest lamp you can find is usually a waste of money. Let’s talk about size

In a space that small, anything more powerful will just overheat the room in a few minutes. That forces the heater to click on and off constantly, which wears out the filament and kills the bulb way faster than it should. One cool thing about shortwave IR lamps is that they heat you, not the air. That’s a lifesaver in a bathroom where steam and drafts usually steal all the warmth the second you turn the heat off. But keep in mind: higher wattage means a heavier pull on your electricity. If you’re putting a 1500W lamp into an old house, double-check your wiring and breakers first.
